Eleni Doukas was born in Athens and studied to be a teacher at the Arsakeio Pedagogical Academy. She then went to England where she studied Educational Psychology (Diploma and Master) and Comparative Education at London University, specialising in educational programmes in the USA and England. 

She is a PhD candidate in the Department of Philosophy-Pedagogy-Psychology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

She has three children: Dimitris, Υiannis and Chrysanthy.

As a member of the Board of Directors of Doukas School, Eleni Doukas participates in the formation and enrichment of the educational philosophy of the School based on Tradition and Progress, with special emphasis on innovation and three main axes: Knowledge, Skills and Values. 

In addition, from her position as General Director of Education of the School, she coordinates the educational work of all levels (from Kindergarten to High School, International Baccalaureate, GCE & BTEC Foundation in Art, Design & Media Practice). At the same time, she is in constant search of new pedagogical approaches and innovative teaching methodologies, in order to enrich – with gradual and careful pace – the curriculum of the School.

In 2016 she was named Knight of the Order of Academic Phoenix by the French Government for her contribution to the promotion of French culture.

In 2020 she is awarded the title of Honorary Member of Special Olympics Hellas in recognition of her many years of contribution to the work of the Organisation.

In 2021 she became a member of the Microsoft Showcase Schools Advisory Board as well as Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE).

From 1988 until today, Eleni Douka undertook the organisation of many Conferences: four Panhellenic Preschool Education Conferences that were a milestone for the Greek education, the International Educational Conference “The School of the Future and the Future of the School” which marked a new era in the educational events of the country,  the “Parent in the 21st Century”, the International Conference “Education on the Cloud” in the framework of the European Project School on the Cloud, the Scientific Conference “STREAM-From STEM and STE [A] M to ST [R] EAM – a modern educational approach”.

She is an active member of the Association of Friends of Children with Cancer “ELPIDA”, the Panhellenic Women’s Athletic Association “KALLIPATEIRA” and the Association “FRIENDS OF THE CHILD”. Her social work is intense and includes the organisation of charitable events and the offering of help to associations and charitable organizations such as “Together for the Child”, Center for Special People “HARA”, Friends of Social Pediatrics “Open Embrace”, Special Olympics Hellas et al.
